Beautiful Izmir

BMB Technology corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities is located in the most beautiful city in the world; Izmir, Turkey. Izmir (formerly Greek: Smyrne; Latin: Smyrna) is a large metropolis in the most western area of Turkey and also the third largest city (4 million @ 2012 census). It has the largest maritime import/export port in Turkey, an international airport and the largest free zone in Europe where many global companies such as Samsung, Hugo Boss, Delphi, Eldor, Fokker and Pratt & Whitney have set up manufacturing and service facilities.

Izmir is an ancient city with more than 3,500 years of recorded urban history. Throughout the last 500 years the city has been one of the principal mercantile cities of the Mediterranean. There are ancient ruins nearby the city including Ephesus (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world), Pergamon, Sardis and Klazomenai. The city is also near centers of international tourism such as Kuşadası, Çeşme, Alaçatı and Foça.

Since the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1923, Izmir has often been at odds with the capitol Ankara over political views. Izmir is regarded as the city with the most modern political (liberal) and cultural views in Turkey. It has the largest percentage of university graduates, a distinct European orientation and scores of internationals living in the city. Izmir also houses one of the largest NATO bases in the world as well as the largest Turkish military base.
